(ECNS) -- China is predicted to experience a daily average of 1.8 million entries and exits at ports across China during the Spring Festival holiday, an increase of about 3.3 times over last year, and the same as in 2019, according to the China Immigration Administration on Sunday.
It is estimated that large international airports will experience peak passenger flow from Feb. 8 to 11, and 16 to 17 with daily average border crossings of 83,000 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, 39,000 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, 36,000 at Beijing Capital International Airport, and 16,000 at Hangzhou Xiaoshan and Chengdu Tianfu International Airports respectively.
Large land ports adjacent to the Hong Kong and Macao Administrative regions are expected to see peak passenger flow from Feb. 11 to 15, with average daily customs clearance of 1.106 million.
China Immigration Administration requires immigration authorities at all levels to make scientific traffic forecasts and release information about entry-exit passenger flow at their ports in a timely manner to provide a reference for the masses to travel.
It also tasks authorities to ensure that queues for customs clearance not exceed 30 minutes and maintain security and order at all ports.
In addition, travelers are reminded to pay close attention to changes in passenger flow and customs clearance. In case of difficulties during the customs clearance process, travelers may call the 12367 service hotline to seek help at any time.
